Meet Anthony
Hi! I'm Anthony Nicholson, and I love writing stories about friendship, kindness, and adventure.
I wrote my first book, The Treehouse Adventure, when I was six years old after seeing my grandad's name on a book he wrote. That was the moment I decided I wanted to be an author too!
My Cecil the Bow Tie Fox stories come from my love of foxes — and of bow ties. I like getting dressed up for special occasions, and I thought it would be fun if Cecil did too. Through his adventures, I try to show how small acts of bravery and kindness can make the biggest difference.
When I'm not writing, I love drawing, exploring outdoors, and coming up with new ideas for future tales. My mum and dad help share my stories and adventures with everyone so that I can keep creating new ones. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.
How Cecil Came to Be
Cecil arrived the way the best ideas do — quietly, and all at once.
Anthony loved the way foxes seemed clever and curious at the same time. He also loved getting dressed up for special occasions, and one day the two ideas found each other. A fox. A bow tie. A reason to celebrate being different.
From that simple combination came Cecil the Bow Tie Fox — and a belief that the things that make you stand out are not something to hide. They are something to wear proudly, right there at the front, for everyone to see.
What the Stories Stand For
Every story Cecil tells comes back to the same four things. Anthony believes these are the moments that stay long after the last page is turned.
Friendship — because the best adventures are always shared. Cecil's world is full of characters who show up for one another, and Anthony writes those moments with care because he knows how much they mean in real life too.
Courage — because being brave rarely looks the way we expect. In Cecil's forest, courage is saying hello to someone new, trying again after a wobble, or simply being kind when it would be easier not to be.
Curiosity — because the best questions lead to the best discoveries. Anthony writes characters who wonder, who explore, and who are never quite satisfied with leaving a mystery unsolved.
Belonging — because every child deserves to feel that there is a place for them. In every Little Fox Tale, the message is the same — there is always room for one more friend in the forest.
If these values matter to you too, you are already part of the woodland family. Welcome.
A Note for Parents, Schools and Media
Anthony's stories are shared with the world with the full support of his parents, Denise and Stephen, who manage all website enquiries, school visit requests, and media communications on his behalf. Every interaction is handled with care to ensure Anthony can keep doing what he loves most — creating new adventures.
Anthony is occasionally available for school visits and media appearances. He is happy to talk about how he began writing, how Cecil's adventures are created, and what it feels like to be a published author at eight years old.
